 We are a dynamic, Australian owned toy company, designing toys here and selling them around the world, as well as distributing some of today’s hottest toys!

Our passion for innovation and obsession for the hottest trends in kids toys has been the foundation of our success! Building great brands is what we are about, constantly developing and representing the hottest new kids products. We are responsible for some of the biggest brands and most popular kids crazes, and we’re pretty proud of our contribution to the Australian Toy Industry!

Headstart began as a toy company in 2007, owned by David and Andrew Hendy. David’s 40 year background in toys saw him previously build two successful toy companies. First Kidz Biz, which sold to Solomon Lew and later Funtastic which soon became the largest toy company in Australia and the first to float on the Australian stock exchange.

Today, Headstart is the largest Australian owned toy company in terms of retail sales in Australia, according to NPD data. Having built our business on nurturing long term brands Headstart has become the driving force in the Australian toy market and now rapidly expanding on the international scene.

Headstart has over 70 employees working out of our 4 locations in Melbourne, Hong Kong, China and Los Angeles. We focus on major brands and have built a lasting reputation of continual investment in TV advertising, turning brands into long term propositions.
